An old Russian proverb makes a strong point about being steadfast and persistent. It says,

“A drop hollows out a stone.”

This could be our motto.

Domestic crime is a problem that can at times seem impossible to solve. Violence in families is the source of so many crimes in Memphis and Shelby County. It often can seem like all the programs that can be mounted might not have much effect. But that’s the wrong way to approach the situation. Persistence and steadfastness do work.

Just like in the proverb. Drop by drop, water will cut an impression into stone. Bit by bit, an organized and engaged community will turn around the severest social issue. Even family violence and domestic crime can be turned around.

Yes, in the most barren of places, a flower can spring: New life and new hope. That’s our real mission.
